Our founders, sisters Katheigh Degen and Raleigh Lang, saw firsthand what can happen when people use a scattered and transactional approach to managing their financial assets. Their father, a tobacco farmer in Weston, Missouri, was a successful businessman who relied on stockbrokers, attorneys, CPAs and other highly regarded professionals to provide financial advice. But because he had no one to assemble all the options and explain how they could work together for him, he made financial decisions in a vacuum—and he later learned those decisions weren’t always in his best interest.

That’s why when Katheigh and Raleigh founded Twin Financial in 1988, they knew they could not view client interactions in a transactional, one-size-fits-all manner. Instead, they committed to helping clients develop an understanding of their short- and long-term financial goals and options so they could make financial decisions confidently.

That consultative, personal approach to financial planning worked for Twin Financial clients more than 30 years ago—and it’s still producing results today.

Although Katheigh and Raleigh have built a financial advisory firm large enough to offer the services of the largest firms, they have done so while also preserving their ability to engage deeply with every client—from developing and implementing customized financial strategies to providing ongoing financial guidance, year after year.
